I''ve owned a Remington 870 Wingmaster since 1978. Last year I converted it for turkey hunting with a synthetic stock and turkey barrel. It was recently stolen, so I was looking for a replacement. I could have gone with the Express, but decided to try the H&R Pardner Pump. I am not dissapointed. It funtions exactly like my old 870, although the action is not as smooth (the 870 had 10,000 rounds through it), but neither is the Express. It shoots great, solid steel receiver, with 3" capability. I expect to get many years of service from this gun.

Built like a tank. Not pretty but will last longer than you will. I have the hunting and the short barreled model. Throws buckshot and turkey loads very well at home defense range and should stop anybody foolish enough to break in. The hunting model takes Winchester/Mossberg choke tubes, they normally are cheaper anyway. Recoil pad works as well if not better than the one Remington puts out. Remington owns the plant in China were these are made. Most 870 aftermarket parts will fit except the barrel, but anyone with a dremel tool and half a brain can make them fit.
